1-year contract, starting between June and October 2025Join the AgMIP international project through its Calibration initiative — a global effort to develop and test advanced calibration protocols for soil-crop models.
Contribute to an international modeling community working to improve the accuracy and reliability of crop models through shared tools and methods. You’ll improve the R package CroptimizR by integrating novel optimization algorithms, and applying them to widely used and well-established models such as STICS, DSSAT, APSIM, and more.We’re looking for a PhD in applied math, statistics, computer science or agronomy, with strong skills in global optimization, parameter estimation of process-based models, R programming, and who is comfortable and motivated to collaborate within an international research network.
